How to: Track Days

 Insurance

knee-v-foot

Stay on your line

Paramedics will be at the track with an Ambulance. Regardless of their presence, full ambulance cover can save you a costly taxi ride in the event you take a tumble. It’s wise to have full health cover and income protection insurance just in case you are out of action for a while.

Its unlikely an insurance company will cover your bike if its suffers damage while on a track day. Ask your insurer if they will cover you and get their response in writing. Ensuring a good paper trail in the event you need to enforce this later on. Having a set of barkbusters and axle sliders fitted will protect your bike from being damaged in all but the most serious crashes.

Summary

Well there you have. Pretty simple I reckon and I can say first hand the fun factor is mega-huge. Providing you maintain a good dose of common sense, keep your bike and riding gear in tiptop condition, obey the safety rules and any direction given to by a track official, you should have a very memorable day.

A big thanks to Lindsay Davis from Atujara for his technical advice. Happy riding and come and say gidday when you are next at the track.
